I taught history at Zagazig Girls' School in Zagazig from 1995 to 2019. Most days I taught primary school children, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Outside the classroom I walk the dog by the river. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Mr. Darwish: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
