Mr. Chetty
24 years teaching English literature in Soweto
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- Oakwood Middle School
- 1998 to 2013
- English, Zulu
For 15 years I was the English literature teacher at Oakwood Middle School. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I sing in a choir. Inside it, I never once raised my voice.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Mr. Chetty
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

you taught me English literature in 2013 at Oakwood Middle School. I still remember the last day before the summer holidays.
