For 27 years I have been the home economics teacher at Maple Ridge High School. I teach Grade 6 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Chávez
If you were in my Grade 6 class, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.

What gifts mean to Mr. Chávez: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
