For 44 years I have been the design and technology teacher at San Sebastián Middle School. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mr. Chávez
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Mr. Chávez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

I failed design and technology twice before you. After you I passed with a B. Thank you. Greetings from Colorado Springs.
