I teach home economics at Westbrook Girls' School in Bakersfield since 1983. Most days I teach the final-year class, and I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I've had 2,320 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Mr. Castillo: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
