Mr. Byrd
French and geography teacher, Bakersfield
- 🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States
- Orchid Middle School
- Since 1990
- English
I came to teaching late, after working as a mechanic, and 36 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I've run the homework club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I watch every football match going.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Byrd
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Mr. Byrd: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
