For 39 years I have been the English literature teacher at Liberty Technical College. I teach the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I never raise my voice.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Mr. Benali: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
