I taught early years at Brookfield Middle School in Oakland from 2004 to 2023. Most days I taught Year 10, and my door was open at lunch.
I ran the debate team after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Mr. Belkacem
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Belkacem: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
