Mr. Athumani
Social studies and geography teacher, Thika
- 🇰🇪 Thika, Kiambu, Kenya
- Thika Girls' School
- Since 2005
- English, Swahili
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 21 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 880 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mr. Athumani: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

I'm a nurse now and I honestly think it started in your classroom. Greetings from Pasig.
