- Porto Alegre Academy
- 1988 to 1999

For eleven years I was the physical education teacher at Porto Alegre Academy. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Mr. Alves: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

you taught me physical education in 1991 at Porto Alegre Academy. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
