I taught history at Sunrise Academy in Portland from 2000 to 2018. Most days I taught Year 10, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Mr. Álvarez
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
