I taught computer science and Spanish at Redwood Secondary School, Bakersfield. I learned every name in the first week.
Over the years I had 440 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Mr. Álvarez
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Álvarez: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
