I teach statistics and environmental science at Gateway High School, Iztapalapa. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I've had 1,580 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mr. Álvarez: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
