I taught special education at Cedar Grove Middle School in Dehiwala from 1986 to 1998. Most days I taught teenagers, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
