I taught early years at Heritage Public School in The Hague from 1998 to 2012. Most days I taught the final-year class, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I had 430 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
