I came to teaching late, after working as a shop assistant, and 19 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I'm learning the guitar. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Miss Özkan
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the planetarium, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Miss Özkan: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
