For 15 years I have been the biology teacher at Los Angeles Boys' School. I teach Grade 4 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 390 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Miss Ortiz
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Miss Ortiz: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
