I taught Spanish at Our Lady of Peace Technical College in Pretoria from 1999 to 2016. Most days I taught Year 9, and I never once raised my voice.
Over the years I had 390 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Miss Maharaj
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Miss Maharaj: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
