I taught English literature at St. Joseph's Grammar School in Johannesburg from 2009 to 2018. Most days I taught teenagers, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
