Miss Akter
Geography and Spanish teacher, Pune
- 🇮🇳 Pune, Maharashtra, India
- Gateway Boys' School
- Since 1987
- English
I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and 39 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,400 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Miss Akter
If you were in my first-year students class, you probably remember the last day before the summer holidays.
What gifts mean to Miss Akter: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me geography in 1989 at Gateway Boys' School. I still remember the snow day nobody expected.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
