I've spent 30 years as a lecturer in organic chemistry at Meadowbank Polytechnic in Tokyo. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I'm always reading two books at once.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mio
I retired from full-time teaching but still mentor a few students a year.

What gifts mean to Mio: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
