I've coached chess at London Central Swimming Club since 1980. Most of my players were between 10 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm still learning every day.
