I coached swimming at Valley View Swimming Club from 1985 to 1996. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
More about Michelle
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Michelle: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
