I coached rugby at Silverlake Youth Club from 1989 to 2009. Most of my players were between 8 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
More about Michelle
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Michelle: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
