Michael Olumide Raji
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Onitsha, Anambra, Nigeria
- Bamboo Repairs
- Since 2002
- English
I've worked in weaving since 2002. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,440 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere.
More about Michael
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Michael: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
