I taught geography at Bakersfield Public School in Bakersfield from 1994 to 2012. Most days I taught first-year students, and my door was open at lunch.
Over the years I had 380 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Micah
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
