Mercy Lilian Kato
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Eldoret, Uasin Gishu, Kenya
- Eldoret Workshop
- Since 2017
- English, Swahili, French
I've worked in blacksmithing since 2017. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 280 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.

Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Mercy: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
