Mercy F. De Leon
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇵🇭 Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
- Old Makati Trades Guild
- Since 1981
- English
I've worked in weaving since 1981. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 1,040 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I like to keep things simple and honest.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Mercy
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Mercy: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
