Mekdes Yodit Gebremariam
Tabla player and teacher in Adama
- 🇪🇹 Adama, Oromia, Ethiopia
- Adama Ensemble
- 2009 to 2024
- English, Amharic
I've played tabla from 2009 to 2024, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
My favorite gigs are the small ones where somebody cries a little in the third row.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Mekdes
I wrote my first song when I was 19. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Mekdes: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
