Mei Kumiko Yamazaki
Master of painting and decorating, now teaching apprentices
- 🇯🇵 Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan
- Kyoto Workshop
- 2008 to 2023
- Japanese
I've worked in painting and decorating from 2008 to 2023. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 330 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I fix old bicycles.

What gifts mean to Mei: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
