Maya Novi Suharto

Thatching, done properly

  • 🇮🇩 Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia
  • Old Meadowbank Shop
  • Since 2018
  • English
I've worked in thatching since 2018. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 420 apprentices. The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.

More about Maya

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Maya: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
