Maya Citra Susanto

Sitar player and teacher in Makassar

  • 🇮🇩 Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia
  • Makassar Quartet
  • 1993 to 2018
  • English
I play sitar and gospel. I started in 1993 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness. My favorite gigs are the small ones where somebody cries a little in the third row. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

More about Maya

I wrote my first song when I was 18. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Maya: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
