I coached athletics at Frangipani Sports Club from 2013 to 2021. Most of my players were between 10 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about Mavis
I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
What gifts mean to Mavis: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
