I taught biology at Victory Girls' School in San Diego from 1979 to 2012. Most days I taught Year 9, and I never once raised my voice. Over the years I had 1,090 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
