I coached softball at New York Boxing Gym from 1996 to 2006. Most of my players were between 10 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
