I've spent 40 years as a lecturer in economics at Pioneer Institute of Technology in Niterói. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a farmhand and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
What gifts mean to Mateus: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
