Mateo L. Pérez
Traditional drumming player and teacher in Mérida
- 🇲🇽 Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico
- Mérida Ensemble
- Since 1987
- Spanish
I've played traditional drumming since 1987, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach.
I carry a notebook everywhere.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Mateo
I write my first song when I was 20. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Mateo: A gift would go toward new strings, repairs and music for my students.
