I've been a nurse for 43 years, most of them in community health at Mount Pleasant Maternity Hospital in Brooklyn. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
I've held a lot of hands. I wouldn't change a thing.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
