My subject is marine biology, and for 21 years I got to share it with undergraduates at Maple Ridge State University.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I garden badly but happily.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
What gifts mean to Mason: I'd put a gift toward a student bursary.
