I taught computer science at Highland Technical College in Giza from 1998 to 2013. Most days I taught primary school children, and my door was open at lunch.
I coached the school's basketball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Maryam
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Maryam: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
