Mary Muthoni Okello
Baking for eleven years in Jinja
- 🇺🇬 Jinja, Eastern Region, Uganda
- Old Lotus Shop
- 2012 to 2023
- English, Swahili
I've worked in baking from 2012 to 2023. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 440 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I sing in a choir.
More about Mary
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Mary: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
