Mary Mary Kimani
Youth chess coach and mentor

- 1978 to 2004
- English, Swahili
I coached chess at Mbarara Community Club from 1978 to 2004. Most of my players were between 8 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learned every name in the first week.
