Marta A. Ávila
Martial arts and fitness coach, Houston
- 🇺🇸 Houston, Texas, United States
- Houston Football Club
- 2008 to 2018
- English, Spanish
I coached martial arts at Houston Football Club from 2008 to 2018. Most of my players were between 12 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I make terrible puns.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

If you played for me, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.

What gifts mean to Marta: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
