Marijke Van Vliet
Coached chess for twelve years in Rotterdam
- 🇳🇱 Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands
- Rotterdam Sports Club
- 2001 to 2013
- Dutch
I coached chess at Rotterdam Sports Club from 2001 to 2013. Most of my players were between 8 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I run most mornings.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Marijke
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Marijke: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
