Maria S. Velasco
First-generation students mentor, Quezon City
- 🇵🇭 Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
- Westbrook Learning Hub
- Since 2016

For ten years I've mentored people in first-generation students and trades. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Maria
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.

What gifts mean to Maria: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
