Maria P. Hanson

Coached chess for 39 years in Durham

  • 🇺🇸 Durham, North Carolina, United States

  • Since 1987

For 39 years I've run the chess program at Durham Swimming Club in Durham. We trained 4 evenings a week, whatever the weather. My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday. If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.

I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.
