Maina Victor Opio
Mentor in first-generation students and leadership

For 47 years I've mentored people in first-generation students and leadership. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Maina
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Maina: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.

You helped me get my first first-generation students job in 1984. I still have your notes. Greetings from Munich.
