Maina Kariuki Athumani
Photography and watercolor artist
- 🇰🇪 Kikuyu, Kiambu, Kenya
- Old Kikuyu Print Workshop
- Since 2006
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in photography, sometimes watercolor. My first show was in 2006 at Old Kikuyu Print Workshop, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
Most of my work is inspired by old photographs. I garden badly but happily.
More about Maina
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
Mediums
What gifts mean to Maina: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
