I'm a ceramics artist based in Mombasa. I've been making things from 1982 to 1998 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
I also teach a weekly class at Mombasa Pottery, which keeps me honest.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Maina: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.

I bought one of your pieces in 1993. It's still the first thing I see in the morning Greetings from East London.
