I've been a nurse for 15 years, most of them in dialysis at San Diego Maternity Hospital in San Diego. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I walk the dog by the river.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
